Popstar Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981 in McComb, MS to mom Lynne and dad Jamie Spears. She was raised in Kentwood, LA. Spears has an older brother, Bryan, and a younger sister, Jamie Lynn. She’s been married twice. Her first husband was childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004 in Las Vegas. Their union was annulled after only 55 hours. Spears was then married to backup dancer Kevin Federline from 2004-2006. They have two sons together, Sean Preston (born September 14, 2005) and Jayden James (born September 12, 2006). She also dotes on her nieces, Jamie Lynn’s daughter, Maddie, and Bryan’s daughter, Sophia. Aside from her marriages, Spears has been involved in several relationships that didn’t make it to the altar. Her most high profile romance was undoubtedly with childhood sweetheart and “Mickey Mouse Club” co-star Justin Timberlake. They affectionately called one another “Pinky” and “Stinky.” She split from fiance, agent Jason Trawick, in January 2013. Spears has also dated producer Charlie Ebersol, David Lucado, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, and Sam Asghari.
Spears was destined for stardom as a child. She appeared on “Star Search” in 1992 at age 11. Disney’s “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” was a breedinground for some of today’s biggest stars in the early ‘90s. The show not only introduced us to Spears, but also to her co-stars Justin Timberlake, J.C. Chasez, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, and Keri Russell. Spears shot to fame with the hit single and album “…Baby One More Time” in 1998 after the teenager signed with Jive Records. Her follow-up albums include “Oops!... I Did It Again,” “Britney,” “In the Zone,” “Blackout,” “Circus,” “Femme Fatale,” “Britney Jean,” and “Glory.” Some of her best known songs are “Crazy,” “Toxic,” and “Womanizer.” She toured the world to promote her music. After four years at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Spears’ Las Vegas concert residency “Piece of Me” is coming to a close on New Year’s Eve 2017. She was presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, received the Millennium Award at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, and was honored with the Icon Award at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards. She won a Grammy for best dance recording for her hit track “Toxic” in 2004. Spears served on “The X Factor” judging panel for one season in 2012. She also showed us her acting chops with guest spots on the television shows “How I Met Your Mother” and “Glee” and in the lead role in the movie “Crossroads.” Spears has been known to pop in to teach kids’ dance classes from time to time in the Los Angeles area. She’s also put her name on such products as fragrances and lingerie.
Spears’ career and life are hotter than ever, but flashback to a few years ago and things were not as bright. She suffered a mental breakdown of epic proportions. In 2006, her parenting skills were called into question after driving with her son on her lap. Then, she began partying hard and was caught going commando after filing for divorce. In 2007, things went from bad to worse. Spears checked in and out of rehab numerous times, shaved her head, and attacked a paparazzo with an umbrella. At the MTV VMAs in September, Spears appeared lost, intoxicated, and unrehearsed during her performance of “Gimme More.” Then, at the beginning of January 2008, she was taken out of her home on a stretcher after locking herself in the bathroom with one of her sons. Spears’ financial matters have been overseen by her dad and lawyer Andrew M. Wallet ever since a conservatorship was put in place in 2008.
